There’s nothing hurried about a
quiet sunrise or pastel sunset.
How to enjoy the time in between
is what too many often forget.
Tasks, schedules, and meetings;
oh, all that self-imposed stress!
Fast food, fast lane, and a driving
need for even greater success,
leave no quality time for others,
and precious little for one’s self.
That with substance and meaning
too often gets put on a shelf.
The intent is to get to it all later,
perhaps spend time with the kids.
Then wonder what in hell happened
when life suddenly hits the skids.
The years come and go so quickly,
sadly offering no second chance.
What good is wealth accumulation
if it leaves so little time to dance?
Listen up to the drum beat of nature;
and fall in step before it’s too late.
